WordPress 3.0

I never update right away. Well for security fixes maybe, but not for features that might carry more bugs and cause me more headaches. WordPress 3.0 has matured and it is here. Enjoy!

Hardening the server – part 2

The GRSEC policy was further tightened, and the policy file reduced in half. This is after a massive update. What does this mean? The smaller the policy file, the less actions are allowed. If we’ve allowed just the right rules, we’ll reduce the possible modes in which an attacker can get at your valuable data.

Project.dyc.edu is now more secure than ever as we turn on a new level of security called GRSEC. If you do your part and use strong passwords, we’ll do our part and keep the server secure.
